His program of research is focused on developing innovative strategies to improve health systems and achieve the Quadruple Aim of better population health, improved patient and clinician experience and reduced healthcare costs.

Justin has received several provincial and national awards for his research, leadership and academic achievements including a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Fellowship and Silver Award of Excellence, the David Sackett Scholarship, the Canadian Geriatrics Society Edmund Cowdry Award and studentship awards from the CIHR Drug Safety and Effectiveness Training program and the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network.

What motivates your work in integrated care?

“In my experience both as a clinician and as a caregiver for my family, I routinely witness the impact and hear the challenges faced by patients and families as they seek care in our complex healthcare system… and I believe we can do better. I have seen the possibilities when the care of my patients is more patient-centred and providers are better connected and able to work as a team across the continuum of care.”
