Health & Housing in the Community

Housing is a fundamental element of a person’s life. Housing encompasses living environments and living arrangements, affordability, stability, access to resources and services, as well as social supports ,and community belonging. Housing is more than a place to live. It is a place that shapes stability, safety, and access to care.

Lead by Centre for Integrated Care’s Research Scientist Dr. Chi-Ling Joanna Sinn, our research is conducted to explore integrated care models that work for all individuals across the housing continuum. This includes

  • Coordinating health and service delivery within congregate living settings and at the neighbourhood level

  •  Strengthening links with community resources

  • Eliminating gaps in care transitions

  •  Advocating for more equitable housing and health policies
