Yasmin Mkalaf

Yasmin Mkalaf is a research assistant with St. Joseph's Health System Centre for Integrated Care, and has been working with the CIC team for over two years. She has a vested interest in how healthcare intersects with housing, especially when it comes to underserved populations in the community. She works to assess current policies implemented in housing and healthcare systems, and advises on possible future changes to improve both fields. Yasmin has also worked to better understand the historical nuances of supportive housing, and how that plays a role in current challenges and barriers being faced by residents today.

Yasmin graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University, and is currently attending the University of Ottawa in the Medical Doctorate (MD) program.
