Sergei Filasov
Dr. Sergei Filiasov recently joined the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University as a postdoctoral researcher, working within OnSPARK to advance data-driven improvements in long-term care. His research focuses on Health Economics & Health Policy and Applied Econometrics and Causal Inference, leveraging large administrative and EMR datasets to generate actionable evidence for health systems.
He completed his PhD in Economics in 2025 at McMaster University and brings an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges health economics, health services research, and data science to inform more effective and equitable health policy. His recognitions include the SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and MacDATA Fellowship.
