Mahsa Edalatkhah

Master’s Trainee

Mahsa Edalatkhah is a Master of Science student in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University, under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Costa. Building on her background in psychology, she is interested in psychotropic medication use among older adults, particularly people living with dementia in long-term care.

Her master's thesis examines antipsychotic deprescribing, trazodone use, and prescribing transitions among long-term care residents. More broadly, she is interested in applying epidemiologic methods and causal inference using real-world health data to generate evidence that informs medication optimization, improves health outcomes, and supports safer prescribing for older adults in long-term care.
